We are ready for summer with some amazing tours!
This year is going to be very different to any year we have had previously, presenting new challenges. As a tour operator we will not only be challenged to ensure we maintain or exceed government guidelines to ensure the continuing good health and safety of our guests with Covid19 around, but as most visitors to the region will be from New Zealand, we must offer exciting and worthwhile tours to convince them to leave their cars behind for the day and come with us.
I have been working hard over the last few months to come up with exciting tours that will fulfil, or exceed, guest expectations and hopefully introduce them to new places they may have heard of but never before visited, and weren’t sure where to find them. Yes, there are such places! I know people who have lived in this region who have never been to some of the beautiful locations deep within the national parks that we are offering as tour destinations this season.
It always make sense to leave the car behind for a wine tasting or beer tasting tour of vineyards and breweries, of which we are blessed with some of the country’s best in this region. There is no need for a duty driver who has to enviously watch his fellow travellers enjoy sipping rare wines or beers and exclaiming at their flavours, we will be that driver for you! These tours have always been popular with everyone, local or overseas visitor, and we expect them to remain popular.
What really excites me is that we have at last gained Department of Conservation permission to access the amazing National Parks that surround the Nelson Tasman region, something that has hitherto been impossible to do at short notice in the past as a tour operator - there are some things to be grateful to Covid19 for! As a result of the lifting of certain restrictions we can now take guests down back roads and logging trails that we know of to destinations that many locals have not yet visited. Some of these destinations are far off the sealed roads and definitely do not fall within rental car agreements! We are looking forward to taking more guests up to the old gold township of Gladstone, now known as Courthouse Flats, up the Wangapeka valley, or the Oparara Arch over the Oparara River, the largest natural rock arch in the southern hemisphere. These and other great Day Out destinations within our fabulous National Parks are available.
Due to some of the access roads, not all these destinations are accessible with our six seat luxury group tour Mercedes Benz and can thus only be offered as private tours using our BMW X5 luxury SUV for up to four guests.
I believe this season’s tours are the most exciting Day Out has ever offered and bookings are already coming in, suggesting this is going to be a great summer. I am really looking forward to sharing this great region with fellow Kiwis.
I have made every effort to keep prices down as much as possible, carefully calculating travel distance and driver hours as basic costs, keeping all other costs to a minimum.
I look forward to welcoming you on one of our great tours sometime this summer.
